Delhi: The Minister of State (I/c) of Culture & Tourism, Prahlad Singh Patel,inaugurated the exhibition titled “Unknown Masterpieces of Himachal Folk Art”, at National Museum, new Delhi, today. The event was graced by Akhilesh Mishra, Director General, ICCR, B.N Aryan, Director, Home of Tribal Folk Art, Gurugram among other dignitaries.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Prahlad Singh Patel, said that Folk Art and Folk Culture is integral to the survival of any society and that under the guidance and leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, his ministry will strive to preserve and promote the same.
The Exhibition is being jointly organised by the National Museum, New Delhi and Home of Folk Art (Museum of Tribal, Folk and Neglected Art), Gurugram in which more than 240 artefacts are on display. Out of this, 230 objects belong to the personal lifetime collection of Late K.C. Aryan, Home of Folk Art, Gurugram. The exhibition has been Curated by B.N. Aryan, Director, Home of Folk Art, Gurugram.
The exhibition will remain open for public viewing till 31st July, 2019, from 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM (Tuesday to Friday) and 10.00 AM to 8.00 PM (Saturday & Sunday), except on Mondays and National Holidays.
