Delhi: As per media reports, a unified licence for access services has been granted to Adani Data Networks, enabling it to offer all telecom services in the country. With the purchase of spectrum in the recent spectrum auction, the Adani Group entered the telecom sector for the first time.

An official source confirmed that Adani Data Networks had been granted UL (AS). According to another official source, the permit was granted on Monday.

An Adani Enterprises Ltd unit, Adani Data Networks Ltd (ADNL), has acquired the right to use 400MHz of 26GHZ millimetre wave spectrum for 20 years for Rs 212 crore. According to Adani Group, it plans to use airwaves for its data centres and super app development. A wide range of businesses will benefit from this, from electricity distribution to airports and gas retailing to ports.

This newly acquired 5G spectrum will be used to create a unified digital platform that will accelerate Adani’s digitisation of its core infrastructure, primary industries, and B2C business portfolios,” the group said.

In the meantime, Adani Enterprises has leased 4.64 lakh square feet of its Noida data centre to Raiden Infotech, a Google subsidiary, for Rs 11 crore a month, as per documents accessed by CRE Matrix.

PTI reports that Adani Enterprises Ltd’s subsidiary D C Development Noida Ltd has leased 4,64,460 square feet of space at Adani Data Center in Sector-62, Noida, for 10 years, according to documents accessed by the data analytics firm.

The rental price per square foot is Rs 235 per month. Initially, the annual rent will be Rs 130.89 crore, but it will increase by 1 per cent yearly as the project proceeds. As per the documents the lease agreement was signed last month.

A joint venture between Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX was formed in February 2021 to develop and operate data centres across the country.

Adani Enterprises was granted 34,275 square meters of land at Sector 62 by the Noida Authority in July 2021 to establish a data centre with an investment of around Rs 2,400 crore.
