“The administration has designated a forest land area at Jispa for the development of the sports complex and ice hockey rink. To proceed with the project, the requisite clearance from the Forest Department will be sought,” Rahul Kumar, Deputy Commissioner
The proposal will now be sent to the Forest Department for the clearance. This development is being pursued as part of a special action plan aimed at promoting adventure and winter sports in the district.
To this end, a detailed project report is being prepared to facilitate the construction of the ice hockey rink and sports complex. The rink, once completed, may also be used as an open-air theatre during summers for hosting festivals and fairs.
