To make winter celebrations a memorable affair Manali is regularly hosting the winter carnival Event since 1977. Taking place in the month of February event is a combination of cultural and sports events. The event is helping not only to boost tourism but also ensure showbiz to the locals and tourists.
The event is inaugurated by seeking the blessings of Hadimba Mata of Dungri followed by the cultural procession by the participating teams of the festival. The activities include skiing competitions, food fests, a craft bazaar, music competition, folk dances, singing competitions and fashion pageants that are added recently to the event. Manali Winter Carnival over time has become an important festive engagement that attracts participants from different regions of the country. Many applicants from across the country are invited to take part in the carnival. The main aim of the festival is to showcase the unique traditions of Himachal Pradesh.
