If you are planning a trip to Khajjiar time it with the Himalayan Monal National Aerofest 2021. The mega aerofest will take place from November 26 to 28 at Khajjiar, also known as “Mini Switzerland’, as part of the different competitions and activities being organized under the CHALOCHAMBA campaign.
In a meeting with the officials concerned and representatives of various organizations associated with the event, Deputy Commissioner Chamba, DC Rana said that paragliding, acrobatic paragliding, RC paramotor and RC drone competitions would be organized during the three day aerofest. In order to participate in the event, participants have to submit a Covid-negative report or proof of both doses of vaccination 72 hours in advance, said DC Rana.
DC Rana emphasized on maintaining cleanliness during the event and instructed officials to use eco-friendly material. He also directed the officials to ensure that the equipment and paragliding licenses, insurance etc of the participants were duly checked before various competitions. He asked Chamba SDM Naveen Tanwar to constitute a committee for the registration of the participants.
Deputy Commissioner said that rescue teams, ambulances, NDRF and communication teams would be deployed during the event. Traditional cultural programmes would be organized at the venue everyday from 2 pm to 5 pm.
