Narkanda around 60 Km from Shimla on Old Hindustan Tibet Road is an ultimate retreat for visitors to experience calmness. The place has good weather throughout the year that invite people from far off areas to escape the scorching heat of the plains.

Apple, peach, plum and apricot plantations even add up to the beauty of the place. Narkanda is also famed for Skiing & Winter sports. The best time to visit this beautiful place is during the winters. You are advised to carry a good stock of woolen clothes as it can get really cold high up in the hills.

Some of the prominent places one should not miss around Narkanda are:

View from Hatu Peak

Hatu Peak: Hatu Peak 3400 m above sea level is both a visual treat and a great hike for the travellers. The top of the hill offers some of the panoramic views of snow-clad Shivalik ranges and the adjoining villages. Hatu Mata temple on the hilltop is a hand marveled structure and one’s trip isn’t complete without a visit to this temple.
Tanni Jubbar Lake: Positioned in the beautiful surroundings Tanni Jubbar Lake is a small man-made lake and a great place to breathe the fresh air and smell the natural fragrance of flora & fauna. Nag devta temple alongside a lake well defines the stillness with spirituality. The place is a good stopover to have a pleasant walk around the lake.

Thanedar: Thanedar Village at 18 km from Narkanda is a must stop place amidst the beautiful apple and cherry blossoms. One can feel the fresh air and fabulous nature trails for walking and trekking all around. Thanedar is a great stopover destination to escape from the maddening crowds, offbeat stays and appreciating the scenic beauty of the hamlet.
