The yet to be touched place is still present somewhere here in Himachal Pradesh, hidden from the wondrous seekers of nature. The place has its own beauty and lies in the region close to Indo-Tibetan Border. The roads to reach the lake and the scenario are almost breathtaking and mesmerizing. This little place with a handful of sceneries is sited at the east end of Kinnaur valley.
The main attraction of the place is the Nako Lake 3,636 meters (11,929 ft) and a religious rock with the foot-print of saint Padmasambhava. The lake seems extremely beautiful by the plantations of willow and poplar trees in its surroundings along with the flock of birds that flap the water in the evenings. The environment here has an ecstasy look making the dusty extensive land a worth stay for the travellers. Its best time to visit is during April-October.
Besides nature, this place also has a history of Buddhism. The delicacy of the place lies in the monastery, temples and the small village beside the adorable lake. The Nako Monastery is constructed across the Nako Lake which has a sober look and houses few temples by its side. The apple and sun dried apricot fields make this place more fetching. One can have an overnight stay at guest houses or opt for a homestay to taste the village life and relish local culture and cuisine.
