Rated amongst the top ten toughest rallies in the world, Raid De Himalayas was commenced in 1999 and is today being fostered as the mega motorsport event. The rally takes the racers through some of the world’s highest motor able roads and passes like Jalori Pass, Rohtang Pass, Kunzum La, Baralacha La, Tanglang La and Khardung La. Majority of the drive is through rocks, snow-capped peaks and gushing streams. The raid can be nerve-racking challenge as the temperature during the event may fall to below -20 degree Celsius. The event has a nine time winner of the rally, Suresh Rana as a biggest source of inspiration to all the participants.
The rally routes remain the most challenging ever and passes through some of Himachal’s most scenic routes on high altitudes. Every year the routes change leading through some of the toughest roads and myriad landscapes. The endurance of man and machine both are tested as one cross through some of the world’s highest and toughest motorable roads.
