Delhi: Indian travellers planning a trip to Australia this summer now have a direct option. Qantas will resume non-stop flights between Delhi and Melbourne from 27 October 2025. The first service arrives just three days before the Australia vs India T20 match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Operating three weekly return services on Airbus A330‑200 aircraft, the airline will provide over 1,300 seats each week for journeys to Australia during the peak travel and cricket season.
Flights will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flight QF70 departs Delhi at 18:45 IST and lands in Melbourne at 12:40 AEDT the following day. The return service, QF69, leaves Melbourne at 09:20 AEDT and touches down in Delhi at 16:45 IST. All times are local.
The timetable runs until 28 March 2026, allowing visitors to reach Melbourne without stopovers. Each aircraft features 26 lie‑flat Business Class suites in a 1‑2‑1 layout and 204 Economy seats in a 2‑4‑2 configuration. Across the three weekly return flights, this route adds more than 1,300 seats per week and totals over 30,000 across the entire schedule.
“This timing is ideal for those planning trips around cricket events in Melbourne,” said Cam Wallace, CEO of Qantas International. “Direct flights reduce journey time and make it easier to coordinate plans with the cricket calendar.”
Travel within Australia can continue through the Qantas Explorer programme, which links more than 100 domestic destinations, including Sydney, Cairns, the Gold Coast, and Tasmania. A codeshare agreement with IndiGo enables Passengers from over 21 Indian cities to connect seamlessly to Qantas services.
