The Himalayas are considered as the prime destination for the mountain cyclists from around the world. With a great terrain and stunning panoramas to offer, mountain cycling is gaining popularity in Himachal Pradesh for past few years (Since 2004) as an ultimate Mountain Cycling destination.
Taking place in a variety of off-road venues, MTB race takes one through some of the most virgin parts of the Shivalik Mountains also known as the lesser Himalayas or the foothills of the Himalayas. The race starts from Shimla the British summer capital and further lead via Narkanda, Jalori Pass, Mandi, Palampur route or towards Kinnaur, Kaza and Manali routes which we call the Old Hindustan Tibet road (NH 22).
HERO MTB Himalaya is Asia’s oldest & among the world’s toughest MTB race. Himachal Adventure Sports and Tourism Promotion Association (HASTPA) has been organizing the event successfully in collaboration with International Mountain Bicycling association and continuing the promotion of adventure tourism in the state with a great number of international participants.
