Delhi: Travellers seeking a spiritual circuit by train have a new route to consider. The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation has started bookings for the “02 Jyotirlinga with Dakshin Darshan Yatra”, a Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train journey linking central and southern India.

The trip begins from Indore on 25 November 2025 and runs for ten nights and eleven days, covering temples and coastal landmarks steeped in faith and tradition.

The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train functions under the Dekho Apna Desh programme of Indian Railways, created to encourage themed journeys across the country. This itinerary connects Tirupati, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari, and Srisailam, combining religious travel with comfortable rail tourism.

Price

Prices begin at ₹20,000 for the Economy Class that includes non-air-conditioned sleeper travel, vegetarian meals, and hotel stays in non-air-conditioned rooms on shared basis.

The Standard Class, at ₹32,800, provides 3AC sleeper travel and air-conditioned budget hotel stays. The Comfort Class, priced at ₹43,300, includes 2AC sleeper travel, air-conditioned hotel accommodation, and air-conditioned transfers, except for the Tirupati–Tirumala segment which runs by non-air-conditioned vehicles.

The first destination is Tirupati, reached via Renigunta station, followed by visits to the Tirupati Balaji Temple and Padmavati Temple.

The next stop is Rameshwaram, known for the Ramanathaswamy Temple, a revered Jyotirlinga shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Travellers then continue to Madurai for the Meenakshi Amman Temple before moving on to Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of the mainland, where three seas converge.

Local sightseeing includes the Vivekanand Rock Memorial, Gandhi Mandapam, and Kanyakumari Temple.
