Possessing an indifferent climate and coverage of dense forests of deodar trees, Jumhar is located 22 Kms from the Chamba city and surrounded by apple gardens. The much colder weather revives you as you reach the place in 2.5 hours. Jumhar is a remote and unexplored spot where one can take a deep breath of fresh-born air in the orchards. Visiting Jhumar during winters can even give you season’s first snowfall experience and a great view of Chamba city from the top in an arresting climate. It is also an idealistic place for picnics.
You can also search peace near the small Nag temple dedicated to the snake god. The beauty of its nature is extremely appealing that it may drag the adventurous spirits to trek up to Kase Wali Mata temple, 4.5 km away, taking one through deodar forests giving dramatic views. There are very few homes and less population in the village, with a small primary school near the Nag Mandir, the beautiful apple fields and local living beauty of the area makes it a special and popular tourist attraction.
