The Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued a revised Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) allowing limited commercial flights at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport in Chandigarh during runway maintenance over the next three weeks.
From October 26 to November 6, the airport will handle flights 5 a.m. to 12 noon. In the second phase, November 7 to 18, timings will be extended to 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Outside these hours, only rotary-wing aircraft will be permitted, subject to prior military clearance.
Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL) Chief Executive Officer Ajay Kumar confirmed that a revised NOTAM has been issued for partial runway closure to carry out repair work from October 26 to November 18. He added that a new NOTAM would be issued ahead of the full resumption of flight operations, and airlines would announce updated flight schedules in due course.
Domestic flights to major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Chennai, Patna, Jaipur, Bengaluru, and Srinagar, will continue throughout the two phases. International services to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates will remain suspended in the first seven-hour operational window.
