Wonderful, unexplored, serene, a less populated place with the chilling weather, Barot is a beautiful place to visit in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. It is a small but magnificent destination surrounded by thick forests and deodar trees. Barot is an emerging tourist spot that provides a wide range of outdoor activities such as angling, fishing, trekking, and camping.

Located at a distance of 40 Kms from Jogindernagar, one can grab a haulage trolly of the British times from Jogindernagar to Barot for a thrilling ride and experience which knocks down the distance to 12 Kms.

Barot is situated on the banks of river Uhl and Angling is best relaxing activity in which one can get indulge. It is also a home to trout breeding center being operated by Fisheries department. Uhl River is packed with Rainbow and Brown Trout fish. Equipments are easily available here by spending nominal amount. So if you are a fish lover, it’s a haven for you.

Barot also forms the gateway to Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to Monals, Ghoral, Black Bear, Kites, Leopards, Wild Cat and variety of pheasants. Barot is a delight for the nature lovers with a number of nature camps in the vicinity. One can also make a dash to Bir billing nearby which is famous for paragliding.
Barot valley has been sparingly preserved with the native charm of the green and the majestic Himalayas. If you are looking for complete serenity and peace and you are not picky on food & stay, this is the ideal place for you to unwind & relax.
