Jaipur: The Pushkar livestock fair in the Rajasthan town of Pushkar will run from October 30 to November 5, 2025, drawing traders, pilgrims and visitors from regions across India and overseas. Authorities expect thousands of camels, horses and other animals to be brought to the trading grounds during the first several days of the event.
The fair takes place annually during Karthika Purnima in the Hindu lunar month of Kartik, when pilgrims travel to Pushkar Lake for ritual bathing. Many participants regard the day as connected to traditions linked to Lord Brahma and view the waters as carrying spiritual value.

Organised cultural and sporting programs will run throughout the week. Camel and horse trading and related competitive displays are scheduled mainly during the opening period.
Village games, school performances, regional music programs and football and Kabaddi matches involving local and foreign participants are planned on successive days. Evening activities include Maha Aarti ceremonies and cultural programs at the fair ground and near the lake.

A Food and Craft Festival is scheduled to open at Shilpgram during the mid-point of the event. Later activities include rural sports finals, turban tying and moustache contests and scheduled music programs by invited performers. The fair will close with prize distributions, a camel and horse program and a concluding Maha Aarti at the lake.

Stalls around the grounds carry jewellery, textiles, silver ornaments, tie-and-dye work and Nagaur beaded necklaces. Food vendors are stationed throughout the fair area. Alcohol and non-vegetarian items are not served due to local religious practice.
Visitors can take part in hot air balloon rides, camel and horse rides, desert excursions and quad biking in areas around the town, along with ritual bathing at Pushkar Lake during the festival period. Travel to Pushkar is possible via Jaipur International Airport, Ajmer Railway Station or road links with major Rajasthan cities.
