With a view to promote tourism in rural areas and to lift community based tourism activities Rs 628 crore aid will be provided to panchayats by Asian Development Bank.
Main thrust will be kept on improving and developing the infrastructure in rural areas. Under this scheme, 19 panchayats in seven districts have been shortlisted. A workshop was organized in Naldehra to impart people about skill development and tourism revenue generation projects.
This project will help in enhancing the tourism activities in remote regions and will prove to be a good source to generate employment possibilities in rural areas thereby driving the economy of the state.
The scheme will provide an opportunity to the tourists to explore the unexplored areas away from the crowded cities and experiencing the ethnic products and cuisine. Local residents will be trained in hygiene, cooking, adventure training and tourist guide activities etc.
